AI answer disagreement log
Use a disagreement log to resolve source, scope and arithmetic conflicts before acting.

- Use one row for each item described in the article.
- Record the source, unresolved difference and next action before marking an item complete.
- Review the actual business records separately. This worksheet does not connect to accounts or change your records.

When an AI answer conflicts with your records, don’t change the records to make the answer look right. Start with the source and the definition. The AI might be using a partial period, a different account, or an unsupported inference. Your spreadsheet could be wrong, too. Treat the disagreement as a specific investigation. The real question is which evidence supports the decision, not which screen sounds more confident.

Wrap accounting exports: catch duplicate payment records
Catch duplicate wrap-shop payment imports with stable transaction references. Use the export review sheet to preserve original collections and correction events.
Preserve the disputed claim and its context
Record the exact business claim, relevant source reference and reporting period. You do not need to copy private customer data into the disagreement worksheet. Keep the original evidence in the authorized system. A vague “AI wrong” note won’t help the next reviewer reproduce the issue or tell a data problem from a wording problem.
The Blù AI business advisor shows source information from enabled accounts. But you still need to inspect the link. Check that the answer cites the right account and date range. If a number has no traceable basis, leave it unverified. Ask for the supporting calculation. Don’t accept a revised answer just because it now matches what you expected.
Align definitions before recalculating
An illustrative answer says the shop collected $18,000, while an owner report shows $24,000. Look at the dates: the first figure covers Monday through Wednesday, while the second covers the full week. That’s a scope mismatch, not proof that $6,000 is missing. Maybe net deposits are being compared with gross collections. Name the measure before calling the arithmetic wrong.
Stripe’s payout documentation shows how fees, refunds, and other balance movements affect a payout. The SBA explains different accounting methods and financial measures. Use the matching source definitions for your own systems. Once both sides cover the same events and time period, recalculate the specific difference. Don’t compare unlike totals just because both labels include the word sales.

Keep material decisions on hold until the gap is resolved
A disputed amount should not trigger a second customer collection, an unreviewed refund or an accounting correction. Find the current provider record and the responsible reviewer first. Blù analyzes and drafts. It doesn’t execute financial actions on its own. If there’s no agreement, investigate. Don’t force the business into the AI’s suggested state.
Use the BlueFinch advisor service for account setup, source availability, and processing-term questions covered by your agreed support scope. For decisions they own, go to your bookkeeper or another qualified professional. Explain the discrepancy, include references, and ask one focused question. That’s more useful than forwarding a long conversation without saying what needs checking.
Record the resolution so the error does not repeat
Known cause? Note whether the source, saved fact, definition, or calculation needs fixing. Then update the right record through the authorized process. If a confirmed business fact was stale, check its separate controls. Clearing a conversation may not change every saved fact. Verify a fresh answer against the corrected evidence before you rely on it.
NIST’s AI risk-management resources can help you evaluate outputs and manage risk in real use. Keep the source trail, then improve your next question. A resolved disagreement can strengthen the workflow, but the explanation has to survive beyond the chat. Keep the final result concise: include the verified figure, its period, and who approved the relevant business action.
If the error keeps coming back with corrected sources, save the reproduction details for support. Rephrasing the question again and again should not substitute for fixing a persistent source or interpretation problem.
