Maps visibility improved. Did useful customer activity improve too: working record

Use this six-field worksheet to join separate visibility and activity evidence without inventing causal revenue attribution.

No signup. Enter reference codes, add records and download a CSV. Entries stay in the browser tab. Filled fields do not establish completion, approval or compliance.

  • The starting row is fictional, not merchant evidence. Replace it with your own verified record. Blank fields remain unresolved.
  • Create one row per decision or observation described in the article. Use the worked example to understand the method, not as proof about your business.
  • Record exact public URLs and collection dates where relevant. Unknown, failed and not checked are different from a verified pass.
  • Keep customer information, account credentials and private documents outside this worksheet. Use role names or internal references.
  • A completed row does not prove publication, authorization, indexing, rankings or revenue. Record the actual acceptance check separately.
  • Export the record to approved business storage if needed. Browser edits are cleared on reload.

A better map position is great, but it’s not an appointment. Track whether relevant people actually reach your business, then whether staff turn those conversations into suitable work. Build a report that keeps every stage clear. Don’t call every click a customer.

Review local body-shop search visibility without calling rankings sales

A map point is an observation, not a customer. Keep neighborhood search coverage separate from recorded inquiries and accepted repair orders.

Keep each source attached to its own question

A geographic scan shows where a configured business appeared for a selected query across sampled locations. Business Profile performance tracks activity on the profile. Search Console shows how the website appears in Google Search. Your own records show inquiries and accepted work. These are related views, but they are not interchangeable totals. Google’s profile documentation says available performance metrics include views, searches, and actions. It also says the data includes organic and advertising activity. Check the metric definition and period before calling a number “organic leads.” The Google Maps rank tracking tool should report visibility, not fill gaps in customer records.

Define a useful inquiry before counting it

First, agree on what counts as a relevant contact for your shop. A supplier call, wrong number, and existing-customer status request aren't the same as a new service inquiry. Keep those distinctions in approved internal records, but don't put personal information in a public worksheet. For high-ticket work, an accepted estimate or scheduled consultation may be the next meaningful stage. It depends on the business. Don't force every industry into a retail purchase model. The business dashboard tool can help organize available information, but connected data and configured definitions decide what it actually shows. Check the source behind a total before you build a conclusion around it.

Use a small example without pretending it proves causation

In this example month, comparable scans show top-three presence at 12 of 25 points instead of nine. Profile call-button clicks go from 30 to 36. Internal staff records show 14 qualified new inquiries and seven accepted jobs. Those are different events, so don’t treat six extra clicks as six completed calls or new customers. And seven accepted jobs don’t prove the ranking change caused them. Existing customers, ads, seasonality, and referrals may all play a part. Report the observed movement alongside business outcomes, then explain what you can’t attribute. That beats multiplying a rank increase by an assumed ticket value.

Investigate the stage that actually stalled

Visibility improves, but relevant activity doesn’t? Check whether the query matches the work you want and whether profile details help customers choose you. If useful inquiries come in but few move forward, look at response coverage, service fit, and the estimate process. Accepted work can rise without a visibility change, too. Other channels may be helping. Google’s SEO starter guide says to assess changes over time, not expect every adjustment to deliver immediate results. Keep the reporting period consistent and note unusual events, including closures or capacity limits. A full schedule can change acceptance rates without making your website worse. Let the operating context explain the numbers.

Build the worksheet around a bounded conclusion

Put one period, query and comparable grid result in each row. Add profile metrics under their exact names, then qualified inquiries and accepted work from your own records. If a value isn’t available, mark it unknown, not zero. Use the last field for limits, like mixed paid and organic activity, missing call outcomes or a changed intake process. Say what you observed and what’s still uncertain. BlueFinch tools included in an eligible package support reporting and review. They don’t guarantee traffic, rebuild missing records or automatically tie every sale to a map position.

If staff changed how they classified inquiries during the period, note that separately. Counting existing-customer calls as new inquiries can inflate the total. Don’t present that increase as added demand from Maps.
