Illustrative example inputs
These starting values show how the math works. They are not industry averages, customer results or a quote.
| Input | Example value |
|---|---|
Planned geographic locations The same query, business and coordinate set in both scans. | 36 |
Locations with usable results in both scans Exclude failed or unmeasured observations from either scan. | 30 |
Earlier top-three matched locations Count only points in the usable paired set. | 9 |
Later top-three matched locations Use the identical paired locations. | 12 |
Example results
| Measure | Result |
|---|---|
Paired measurement coverage Planned locations with two usable observations. | 83.33% |
Later top-three matched share Observed share among matched locations. | 40% |
Top-three share difference Later minus earlier share in percentage points. | 10 |
Calculation detail
| Measure | Result |
|---|---|
| Earlier top-three matched share | 30% |
| Planned locations without a usable pair | 6 |
| Matched later points outside top three | 18 |
Model assumptions
- Both scans use the same service query and comparable collection settings.
- Both ranking shares use the identical matched coordinate set.
- Outside-depth observations are usable for top three only when the measured depth includes those positions.
- Missing pairs are collection gaps, not inferred ranking positions.
Read alongside these results
- Recorded visibility does not establish traffic, appointments or revenue.
- No scan, profile edit or ranking change is performed here.
- Unavailable denominators stay unavailable.

A search beside your tint shop might show your listing near the top while a search across town returns different businesses. One phone result does not describe visibility across the entire service area. A geographic grid samples selected locations and shows which neighborhood observations need further investigation.
The comparison tool above uses only locations with usable results in both selected scans. Its numbers are fictional. Start with a specific service, such as automotive window tint, rather than mixing residential film and vehicle work in one report. The output describes recorded positions, not inquiries or installed jobs.

Choose the service before selecting the grid
Record the exact search phrase, business identity, latitude and longitude, and relevant collection settings. Car window tint and residential window film answer different searches even when the same shop offers both services. Collect them in separate scans. Select locations relevant to the service under review, not only points where your listing already appears.
Google explains local results through relevance, distance and prominence. Distance affects what a nearby searcher sees. Accurate service and location information helps Google understand the business. These principles support reviewing the query and profile facts. They do not establish a guaranteed radius, ranking position or number of appointments.

Match observations before comparing percentages
Use the exact same coordinate set for the earlier and later scans. Match each usable earlier point to its later counterpart, even when the later result was not top three. A failed observation in either scan leaves no usable pair. Exclude the gap from the ranking denominator while retaining it in the measurement coverage report.
A usable result outside the provider’s measured depth is different from a failed request. If the depth includes the first three positions, an outside-depth observation was not top three. It does not supply an exact position farther down the results. An unmeasured location supplies no ranking evidence at all.
Read the fictional neighborhood comparison
The example plans 36 locations and obtains 30 usable pairs. Paired coverage is about 83.33 percent, with six planned locations missing a usable pair. Nine of the matched locations were top three earlier and 12 were top three later. Both ranking percentages use the same 30 locations.
Earlier top-three coverage is 30 percent. Later coverage is 40 percent, a difference of ten percentage points. This is an observed share difference, not ten percent more bookings. Eighteen matched later observations remain outside the top three. Download the comparison and retain both actual scan dates with the provider’s source records.
Assign a supported investigation to the right person
Check the service description, website, published hours and location information against the shop’s current operation. Find an actual unanswered question customers ask about the searched service. Assign the supported content correction to its owner. Do not create a neighborhood address where you have no legitimate business presence to alter the map results.
Use a CRM task with an owner, associated record and internal review date. HubSpot documents these task fields. Keep the observed movement distinct from its possible causes. A profile edit, competitor change or collection difference might occur between scans. Two maps alone do not establish which event produced the recorded change.

Keep map visibility separate from customer outcomes
BlueFinch’s tracker needs location and scan setup. Keyword coverage, saved observations and scheduled frequency depend on account settings and limits. Opening a stored map does not run a fresh scan. Check the demo and your actual allowance before planning repeated measurements across every query and neighborhood.
Record website inquiries, accepted appointments and completed installations in their own business records. A ranking point is not a customer. If only one usable scan exists, there is no paired change to report. Fix the collection gap, keep the query consistent and choose the next investigation from the evidence you have.
